In 1954, the Sangyang Electrical Machinery plant was founded. In 2000, SANYANG INDUSTRY CO., LTD merged with Hyundai. In cooperation with the Japanese company Honda, the company started production of 50 and 80 cubic scooters.

In 1998, "SANYANG INDUSTRY CO., LTD" introduced the EURO 2 standard-a quality management system, documented and systematized production. The company has been awarded honorary awards several times for achievements in the field of quality control.

Spare parts and consumables were and still are much more profitable than their competitors in terms of cost. Prices for original spare parts are 10% -20% cheaper than spare parts of European and Japanese competitors SYM.
